5 Reasons You’re Not Getting Interaction on Your Blog Posts!!

It is truly disappointing to put so much time, effort and confidence into writing a blog post that you just know your readers are gonna love! You know it’s gonna be one to drive a ton of traffic to your blog and because it’s just that good, you expect a good amount of feedback as well!

Unfortunately, by the end of the day … your views are still low, you got little to no reaction and barely any comments!! That is so frustrating!! I know because I’ve been there and done that with my very first blog!! I learned a lesson in it though! It’s not always that your blog posts suck haha I’m sure they’re actually really good! Sometimes you just make silly blogging mistakes that you have to learn from and that’s okay! Here’s five reasons why your blog posts aren’t getting as much interaction or feedback:

I literally cannot even begin to express how important it is to make sure you come up with eye catching headlines and titles! It’s the FIRST thing readers see and we all know what they say about first impressions – you never get a second chance to make a first impression!

People don’t leave comments just for them to be left unread. The moment that your readers start to feel like they’re being ignored is the moment they stop actively being so supportive of you. I want you to know that when you take the time to reply back to your reader’s comments, you’re not only letting them know that you’re actively involved in the reading their comments, but you’re also encouraging them to come back and comment again later. Keep in mind that the action of replying back to comments whether it’s on your post or theirs is a critical part of networking!

There are some readers who just flat out don’t comment on your posts simply because they can’t relate to what you’ve written about… especially those that aren’t even close to being in the same niche as you! For example, you can’t be a Fashion Blogger with the majority of your followers being video gamers. You’ll be lucky if they even open up your post and read it because ultimately .. they don’t care about fashion. Their biggest concern are the games! While it’s good to connect with people outside of your niche, it’s also very healthy to stay in good connection with those that share the same niche as you! When people can actually relate to your posts, it’s generally easier for them to comment.

There some readers who LOVE your content but sometimes they’re either forced to log into something before they comment or create an account first. A lot of people would really rather not have to go through all that trouble. I personally have a couple blog friends that blog through platforms like wixsite and bloglovin. I think their sites look AMAZING and I love their posts! However, I’ve noticed that I cannot leave a comment on the posts whatsoever unless I have an account of some sort with either one of those platforms and honestly, that’s annoying because I don’t want an account with either one of those hosting platforms but I do still stop by to visit their blogs anyway. If at all possible, try to make it as easy as possible for people to interact on your blog post in your comments box. That should help.

One of the biggest reasons why you may not get a lot of views, feedback, and interaction is because you don’t promote enough. After you hit the publish button your post, there is sooo much more that you need to do after that. Utilize Social Media! Share your posts with other people. Visit their blogs, comment and then leave a link to your most recent post. It’s all about how you network!

If you’re struggling with this issue then I genuinely hope this post helps you! Once upon a time, I needed this same advice too! Thanks for reading and always supporting my blog business. Your company is greatly appreciated here!

          1. Ohh that sucks ☹️ I’m sorry! lol I use to work weekends so I know how that feels. Friday’s don’t mean nothing to weekenders lol

    1. Thank you Renard !! ❤️
Even I’ve gotten to where I don’t comment on some blogs because writer never comments back. I just feel like it’s rude.

    1. Hey! I have my days where I struggle with my title too and honestly those are probably the days I promote the most 😂😂 thank you for reading and commenting !!

  1. I agree with each of these and follow them however still struggle getting traffic to grow. I believe the content is good but just seem to not gave enough followers to get the blog moving faster. Would love your opinion. Check it out. Thanks!

    1. I will most certainly be by to check it out! In all honesty, a lot of my traffic is generated through Pinterest and secondly Twitter. Do you use either one of those?

  2. Brilliant write up. i’m doing most of what you have written about but not getting much engagement. Maybe i think my titles are catchy when they are not😂. Will keep trying.

    1. Don’t give up though! Sometimes, you really could be doing all the right things, interacting well and still not getting much reaction. That’s not your fault. I mentioned to someone earlier that the majority of traffic is generated through Pinterest and Twitter.

  3. I totally agree about having to log in to leave a comment, especially when it comes to wix. I feel bad cause I can’t leave a comment so I just tweet them instead but still a pain!

    1. Same here! If you ever figure it out , let me know! I struggle to comment with those that are on bloglovin too. Now some of them have their comments open to where you can leave a comment but most of them don’t.

Thanks for reading and commenting Millie!

  4. Thank you for this – I haven’t gone self-hosted yet but when I do how do I ensure viewers don’t have to sign in to anything to comment? I’m currently using the free version of WordPress.

    1. It honestly just depends on who you host your blog with. Mine is through SiteGround but I know if you have Wixsite or Bloglovin your readers will have to create an account and sign in to leave you comments. I’m sure they’re great hosting platforms no doubt but that part of it is a pain! Normally when you’re self hosted , you can do ANYTHING you want with your blog! You just have to figure out how to get things the way you want them. ❤️

      Thanks for reading and commenting!!

  5. Very helpful. I have trouble with this. The most comments I’ve ever gotten on a post has been 8 I think. I think I need better topics, better titles and better promoting. Thanks!

    1. Don’t give up! Keep learning new blog techniques and refining your blog until you reach your goals ❤️ I enjoy your blog Melissa! I really do! In all honesty, a lot of my traffic and interaction is through Pinterest and Twitter

      Thanks for reading and commenting!!

  6. I really like these tips! I’ve recently started working harder on catchy titles since learning the importance of SEO and just going off of, what would draw me in if I saw a title? Great post!

    1. I try to look at it like that too … “like if I were the reader, would this title actually draw me in!?!” Thanks for reading and commenting !! ❤️

  7. Beautiful Jessica! I will say that I learned a lot about blogging and keeping things interesting from you. I owe any success I have had with blogging to you!!

    1. I really think it’s okay to be personal in your posts as long as it’s still relateable! ❤️ thank you so much for reading and commenting! I’m on my way now to return the love!!

    1. I wish there was a way I could comment on people who host their blogs through wix. I feel so bad when I read and can’t comment directly on the post ☹️

Thanks for reading and commenting! On my way to check out your blog now!!

  8. Yuck! Those pesky titles! I’m horrible at titles.
I read a lot of people’s blogs every weekend and days like today when I’m bored at work. I will start put my blog site with all my comments.
    Thanks for the tips.

  9. Jessica, please tell me.. Whether WordPress business plan better or Site ground grow big plan… My premium plan will expire on August.. After that I shall adopt one…

  10. I don’t like it when people don’t reply to comments, sometimes if I am at work it takes me a little longer, but I always reply. If someone has taken the time out of their day to read my post and leave a comment of course I am going to respond. It’s respectful. These are very true reasons of things that can impact. Thank you for sharing 😘xx

  11. All these are true! I know sometimes it is hard for me to comment on a post that I can’t relate to even if it was wonderfully written.

  12. Great tips! Especially about having to login to comment. There have been so many blogs I’ve just not commented on because of the hassles. It’s pretty irritating! Not that it takes a whole lot of time but by the time I’ve set up my info and finally logged in, I’ve lost my train of thought. Plus, like you said, there are some platforms I really just don’t care to sign up with.

    Thanks for sharing!

  13. Nice tips. The only times I’ve suffered on stats is when I first started and chapter 7 of my latest story. Funnily enough, with me, I noticed that the posts that I am sure will be popular are the ones that aren’t quite as popular as I thought and the ones that I like but doubt are the ones that are very popular. And what helps my stats is when I publish insert new short stories in-between the novel I’m posting or award posts.
    Great post!

    1. & that’s a GREAT WAY to keep up with what really draws your readers in the most ! The posts that always have the most reactions !! Thanks for reading and commenting !! ❤️

  14. This has been a great help! I think one of my weaknesses when it comes to blogging is not promoting my content! I’m bad at scheduling and I actually forgot to promote a post last week and didn’t realise for days!! 😔
