5 Ways to Stay Motivated to Eat Healthy!!

Often times, people in the Health & Fitness Business always talk about how important it is to eat healthy or they’re forever throwing out ideas of what healthy foods you can eat but the one thing they rarely ever do is tell you HOW to stay motivated to eat those healthy foods!!

Eating healthy is NOT easy, especially in the beginning. It’s one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done in my entire life! To eat healthy and stay consistent in doing so is a bit of a struggle. You’d think the hardest part is getting started but it’s the “consistency” that people have the most trouble with!

So today, I decided to share some of the things I do to keep me motivated on my own journey of eating healthier foods on daily basis in hopes that it will help you!

START WITH HEALTHY SNACKS

When you live a busy lifestyle, snacks can be useful when hunger hits and you don’t have time to prepare a meal. However, many snack foods available today are high in carbs and sugars, which can leave you feeling unsatisfied and craving more food. So this is what works best for me since I’m a HUGE SNACKER – I’ve replaced majority of my unhealthy snacks with healthier ones!! I literally pack my work bag full of random healthy stuff like fruits, nuts, cheese and sometimes crackers. (even though crackers aren’t technically healthy, they’re better than consuming six Debbie Cakes in one eight hour shift! haha)

LEFTOVERS ON LUNCH

To cook something the night before and eat it the next day for lunch is not only another good way to encourage a healthy meal midday but it’s also a great way to SAVE MONEY!

NO CASH

If you’re like me and surrounded by vending machines throughout the day full of different snacks and sodas, get in the habit of not keeping cash on you in order to avoid such easy access to those machines πŸ™‚

WATER

I have a love/hate relationship with water. Like I KNOW I need to drink it yet and still I’d rather have pink lemonade, sprite or a slush of some sort. There are some people who can drink water ALL DAY LONG… However, I’m not one of those people so I’ve committed to something different! I drink water throughout the entire day except for dinner. Dinner is cheat time for my drinks only.

HEART/MENTAL CHECK

There’s gonna be moments where the temptation is definitely stronger than any strategy you have. Those are the moments where you have to really get your mental together! Remember WHY you started this journey and what purpose it’s supposed to serve. If you know in your heart it’s something you really want to do then you gotta set your mind to it! No ifs, ands or buts about it.

Remember friends, your health isn’t an expense; it’s an investment!! Thanks so much for stopping by to read!

  1. Very true changing habits can be difficult but once you make changes and it becomes a lifestyle it’s easy to stick to! I drink so much water, it is so important.

  2. Thanks for the tips! I am trying to maintain healthy eating lifestyle for quite som time now, but it’s still struggle sometimes πŸ˜… Especially when no healthy snack is around and I’m super-hungry. Easy to slip down the fast-food road. Keep going! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏻

    1. I totally get it! I’m a mom of two boys who are in school so we keep plenty of snacks in the house for them such as Debbie Cakes, random bags of chips, cookies and etc so I really can’t get away from temptation if I tried πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ BUT I’ve helped myself on that level too by buying more healthy snacks for home!! Lol. I can see the kids junk food and then I see my healthy ones hidden in some of the same places πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so yes the struggle is real lol! Thanks so much for reading and commenting !!

    1. Snacks are a great start !! It’s so much easier to just easy your way into this journey instead of starting off hardcore lol thanks so much for reading and commenting !

  3. Very informative post! It’s not always easy to stay motivated in eating healthy and I think all of us could do with utilizing some, if not all, of these helpful tips πŸ˜€

  4. Definitely, consistency is the hardest part especially when you have so many tempting options available! Love all the tips they are really helpful. Let’s get back on track! πŸ˜„

  5. This is great advice, and you’re right, staying motivated is the hardest part about eating healthily, and the experts never actually tell you HOW!
Luckily I am one of those people who can drink water all day! But the hardest thing for me is when I am eating at a restaurant – I often get tempted to choose an unhealthy option, even when there are healthy options on the menu! x

  6. This was some great information! I am currently trying to find a gluten-free food products because I am trying my best to stick with this new diet. I have found bread that is gluten-free, but trying to find other products I can actually eat. It is a difficult diet to stick with considering I haven’t ever been on a special diet. The information you share is ALWAYS great and I value what your views!!

    1. Thanks so much girl !!! What’s kind of bread is it that you’re eating? I’ll have to look into that myself lol bread is one of my weaknesses!! πŸ˜‚

  7. These are such useful tips. I love cooking more than I need for evening meals and having the left overs for lunch. Drinking water is something I have a love-hate relationship with too, I’m either consistent with it or I’m not drinking it at all! So that’s definitely something I could improve on.

    1. Girl , I LOVE LEFTOVERS!! I think I’ve always been pretty good about that but now I’m having to get in the habit of cooking healthier stuff and making sure there’s enough for me to take for lunch the next day and sometimes that’s hard because healthy food is so much more expensive! (but it’s still worth it!) thanks for reading and commenting !! xoxo!

  8. I actually do the same trick about drinking water all day except at dinner, I have half a can of coke or a whole one if I just HAVE to! I actually have several tips on how to be sure and get plenty of water in you, especially if you aren’t a fan and if you’re ever interested, you could write the piece, shout out my Instagram (I dont have a blog and I started a YouTube channel but there aren’t any videos yet) and I would share your blog and socials on my Instagram page and stories, like a collab. I’m warning you now that I only have a few hundred followers but I’m always steadily growing! Just thought it’d be a neat idea to give my ideas to someone that would want to write about them and at the same time give my followers a health & self care blog to follow as well! You’re the only person I’ve ever approached so I’m not sure if this is the appropriate route but my socials are all OoohLaLaAndrea including my gmail. Regardless of your decision I enjoyed coming across your blog and you have some pretty good topics! πŸ’–

    1. Hey Andrea !!!
First of all, thank you soooo much for reading and commenting !! It’s good to know that someone else does the same thing πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

& girl I don’t have a lot of followers either! I’m still in the process of trying to grow my Insta but I’m currently having an issue with it! For some reason I’m unable to comment, follow, post or anything on it I keep some error that absolutely will not go away!! ☹️😠 but I don’t mind promoting you and sending more people your way!!

Thanks so much for stopping by !!! πŸ’•
