Living Your Best Life – Defined

We live in generation where “living your best life” is defined by how much you can impress other people with what you own and everything you have going on in life but that is so totally incorrect and honestly that’s really just more of you living your life for the approval and validation of others.

…. but let’s see it from another perspective …

What if I told you that living your best life has nothing to do with how many trips you take, how many cars you have, how well you smile for the camera, or the likes you gain on social media?

Living your best life is actually about :

  1. having stability.
  2. being genuinely happy with who are.
  3. walking in freedom.
  4. actually striving towards your goals and reaching them.
  5. chasing what makes you happy!
  6. having self peace.
  7. and creating a life that you don’t feel like you need to vacation from.

Don’t let social media fool you. People aren’t always what they “post” to be! There are people with only 3-9 likes who have plenty of friends and then there are people with 100+ likes who are actually very lonely in real life. There are couples who look happy together, but in reality they’re miserable and then you have people who rarely post pictures of themselves or significant other on social media but are in loving and beautiful relationships.

Social Media has created jealous behavior over illusions. Sadly, some are envious over lifestyles and relationships that don’t even exist.

Focus on living YOUR own best life! Focus on yourself. Fall in love with who you are. Get excited about where you’re headed and what’s next! You have so many goals, so many dreams, so much ambition, and your constantly finding new passions. Focus on all of that! Learn to be spontaneous, take risks and step outside of your comfort zone. Literally, chase what makes YOU happy! Now that’s living your best life .. in my opinion. You don’t need validation from other people to determine whether it’s your best life or not!

Thanks for coming by to show my blog some love today! Your company is always appreciated here!!

  1. I did adopt all the given points some 3 years back and I can say that the information you provided is so worth reading. It’s just perfect, everything that you described. Keep writing!

  2. I love the points you have made in this post – I am always trying so hard to create a life I don’t need a vacation from – that has been my goal for many years now!

    1. Thank you! We’re in the same boat but this year I’m pushing harder than I ever have before in my entire life !! ❀️ thanks for reading!

  3. So true! When you’re living your best life, every day will be filled with joy! You won’t feel like you need a vacation, because your work is something you love doing and would choose to do every day anyway! It’s also very true about the social media – it can be misleading and doesn’t paint an accurate picture of peoples lives. So we need to stop comparing ourselves to others, and just aim to become a better person every day than we were yesterday! I’m not living my best life yet, and I’ve got a long way to go but I’m getting closer to it day by day.

  4. Very well said!! I am one that needs a reminder of this every so often. Sometimes I get caught up in comparing my life to others when I just need to think about what I have and have achieved so far in life and be happy. Great post!!

  5. Thank you Jessica! Of course you always share so many wonderful that carry so much meaning. I absolutely loved the meaning to this and try my best to follow this daily! I am hardly ever on social media , like Facebook and Twitter because much of what we read in these places, isn’t the truth. If more people would be honest with what they share, I would probably read more into these. Another fabulous post Jessica!!

    1. Thanks girl !! I’m on Social Media but I’m honest in what I post! I hate it when I see people post things about their lives that aren’t true though lol it’s like … who are you trying to impress?? Just live life for YOU !!
Thanks for reading and commenting !!

  6. Hi Jessica,

  7. Jessica, your posts are always so inspiring and uplifting! I agree with all the points you made. No one can determine whether we are living our best lives BUT ourselves. Therefore, we don’t need validation from anyone. Thank you for this reminder!!

  8. Yes, yes and YES! This is all so accurate. I wanted to shout preach and high five you reading this. Trips, money, cars etc are not what makes us happy. Some people can get so wrapped up in wealth that they lose the true meaning of life.
Thank you for sharing with us.
