Some people think they have to have it ALL TOGETHER before they can genuinely inspire others. Literally – there are some people that think without a college degree, they’re useless. Others feel as if they need to have already purchased a house, have a nice car or two and have the “perfect” love life or marriage before they can truly be an inspiration, make a positive impact or be that help to the world that it so desperately needs but that is so untrue!
Perfection is not needed in order to inspire people. Let others be inspired by how you deal with your own imperfections and how you still continue to succeed with them! Most people are not inspired by your “flawless” journey anyway. They’re most inspired and encouraged by the hurdles and hardships you had to overcome to get there! Sometimes, people just need to know how you survived some of your worst days and to those of you who have reached any kind of success, I think you can agree with me on the fact that you’ve probably had to fight through some TERRIBLE DAYS first before you could get to where you are now!
That’s why it’s so important to be honest when sharing your story with other people because you really never know who you’re actually helping. You never know who’s currently in a tough situation that you’ve already made it out of and sometimes your testimony could be the very thing that helps push them on through! You never know who’s mind you’ve changed about giving up and throwing in the towel. Sometimes, the power of your testimony is enough to stop a person from committing suicide! Sometimes, you are somebody else’s hope in just being honest about where you’ve already been in life, what you did, how you handled it and sometimes where you currently are and how you’re dealing with it now!
God did not call you to be perfect! Don’t ever think that just because you’ve not yet reached a certain level of success in life that you’re disqualified to be an encouragement to other people. GOD DOES NOT ALWAYS CALL THE QUALIFIED BUT HE QUALIFIES WHOM HE CALLS!! Get that all the way in your spirit today and you remember that next time the opportunity presents itself for you to be an encouragement to someone else. The journey to success is not a life full of fairytales and unicorns .. for you will have to fight through some tough days but you can make it!
“Pace yourself. The journey is long. If you’re following God, then enjoy the climb. If you rush it, you’ll ruin it. Nothing worth having happens overnight.” -Tony Gaskins
