The Best Advice A Blogger Could Ever Get!

If blogging is a hobby for you then that’s cool but if there’s ANY chance that you want to make money from it then go ahead and invest in being a “self-hosted” blogger. The same $80-$100 you would invest into primarily hosting your blog on wordpress.com for example is the same amount or less that you could invest into a self-hosting platform like SiteGround and have unlimited options to monetize your site as well as have the freedom to design your site however YOU want.

I LOVE WordPress but I’ll never primarily host a blog with them again. Yes, they do offer site monetization but they have entirely too many limitations and restrictions and personally I just feel like my work is worth more than $8.40 a YEAR with WordAds. For those of you who don’t know, WordAds is program WordPress offers to their bloggers as an opportunity to make money with their blog.

I’ve only been with SiteGround for three months and I’ve already made more than that little $8.40 that I made last year with WordAds. FYI : SiteGround comes with many benefits including having WordPress, GoDaddy, BlogSpot and etc already built into whatever package you choose for FREE .. at no extra cost to you! That’s why you still see me on WordPress! I’m back but with BETTER benefits and freedom! Here’s my link to SiteGround if you want to check it out and give it a try! https://www.siteground.com/index.htm?afcode=33f520796ff543a286507ccddfb6aaf0

When it comes to monetizing.. what works for other bloggers may not work for you. So it’s important to experiment and explore all the different options out there! There are several ways to monetize your site .. Ad Networking, Affiliate Marketing, Blog Coaching, Mentoring, Creating Courses and if you’re creative then you could create your own products and sell them! Never base the success and results of your blog on someone else’s.

For a lot of us, it’s a dream to work from home and be our own boss as a blogger! Entrepreneur Life .. but one thing about that kind of life is that it takes time. Unfortunately, it’s not something that happens overnight. Although there is REAL MONEY in blogging, it’s not a get rich quick scheme! Be patient and give your blog enough time to blossom, grow and develop on different levels. Keep networking and being consistent. Your hard work will eventually pay off! I promise!

Honestly, I could give you a world of advice about blogging but I feel like these three are the overall best! Thanks for reading and I hope you as a blogger were encouraged today!

  1. I am wanting to go self hosted this year, as I am upgraded to personal on WordPress. But want to develop more and have more freedom over the look of my blog. Thank you for sharing the benefits x

    1. You’re welcome !! 💛 I had their premium plan but still didn’t have freedom and that was a real bummer ! Thanks for reading and commenting! You always show love! Thank you!!

    1. Thank you !!
I genuinely love WordPress. I think it’s a great place to network with other bloggers! It’s just not a good idea to primarily host your blog with them. Thanks for reading and commenting ❤️

  2. I love this post Jess ! I’ve been waiting for someone to do a post like that, which makes it easy for me to understand!! Thankyou for sharing this and I will definitely be checking out the link 🙋‍♀️😍x

    1. You’re welcome !!!! ❤️ I’m glad someone appreciates it !! Thanks for reading and commenting !! SiteGround in my opinion was cheaper than WordPress. I only paid $75.01
but your price depends on which plan you choose and for how long and etc

        1. That’s how I was at first but honestly after you invest in your blog, it’s all about how hard you work to make your blog successful. I’m excited to be seeing revenue from my blog! I won’t be satisfied until I can make it a full time job though lol but I feel where you’re coming from! Im always working on and learning new ways to monetize

          1. I would love to earn money from it, but I just don’t have the time to put 110% in at the minute! Great advice though and I will definitely be taking it all on board 👌💗

          2. That’s understandable too ! Blogging takes ALOT of time!! I’m here to help you though whenever you’re ready or meet it 😍😘

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this Jessica! I honestly want to try to make a little money asides from a full-time job, but WordPress isn’t all that great for this! I think it’s about time to give this a chance! In the selections between, Web Hosting, Word Press Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting and Cloud Hosting, which did you choose? When I take this chance of self hosting, would I just do a post on Word Press letting anyone that want to come with me where to go? I always appreciate your help and inspiration!!
I hope you had a fantastic week and you have a wonderful week! Lots of love sweetie!

    1. Girl, I’m hosting mine through SiteGround and they have been absolutely EXCELLENT so far !! They’re not nearly as expensive as Bluehost depending on which plan you choose. I paid $75.01 to get mine started with them. Even though I started over and created a new blog, you can still keep your current blog, all your content and followers. They will transfer all that stuff over for you for FREE! WordPress is already built into the plan at no extra charge as well. That’s why I’m back on WordPress. It’s just that this time around SiteGround is my primary hosting platform which allows me to make real money

  4. Greetings from California! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to browse your site on my iphone during lunch break.
I enjoy the info you present here and can’t wait to take a
look when I get home. I’m surprised at how quick your blog
loaded on my phone .. I’m not even using
WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, wonderful blog!
